The frequency of the electrical pulses is per second. High-frequency pulses range from 80 to 120 cycles per second and help control pain. Low frequency pulses range from 1 to 20 cycles per second and is suitable for treatment of chronic pain.

I started by applying the TENS unit for 20 minutes in order to avoid taking over-the-counter drugs. The cons about this product is that you can only increase time in 10 minute increments and you can only increase the timer rather than lower it.
